What happens to a link

We fetch public media or captions to produce a transcript. When captions are unavailable, audio is sent to OpenAI for transcription. Media requests may pass through our download relay. Private or restricted media is not supported.

Storage and deletion

Job records, submitted links and transcripts are kept until explicitly deleted. Audio-processing checkpoints expire after seven days and usage records after 30 days. Temporary audio is removed when processing ends. Transcripts are scoped to the submitting browser or Telegram user; we do not share cached transcripts between users. You can delete a web result from its result screen. Clearing your browser cookie removes your access to its history, not the stored records. Telegram results sent to a chat also remain subject to Telegram's storage and deletion behavior.

A necessary signed browser cookie allows access to your jobs. Usage records contain job status and processing volume, not raw IP addresses. A daily keyed IP hash enforces submission limits and expires after two days. Hosting providers may separately retain infrastructure request logs. Google Fonts receives font requests from your browser.

Using the service

Submit only media you have permission to process. Do not use the service to access private networks, bypass access restrictions, or exceed usage limits. Transcripts can contain errors; check important passages against the source. Caption timing comes from the source. Generated audio exports use approximate chunk timing.

The beta has a 240 minute media limit and daily processing allowances. Availability depends on source platforms and processing providers; we do not guarantee every link or a fixed completion time. There is no paid subscription in this release.

Support

Support contact is being configured for the beta. Please contact the person who invited you to use Pocket Transcriber.
